Confidentiality

 

This page sets out the terms and conditions clients must agree to when working with Indie Book Cover Designs. We've tried our best to make these as fair as possible for both client and designer.


 

Indie Book Cover values your privacy. All information shared with us is treated as confidential and will solely be used to provide a quote for our services or to complete your book cover design project. We assure you that your information will not be shared with any third parties unless explicitly requested by you. 

Rights and Ownership

Upon receipt of the final payment, Indie Book Cover Designs, will grant the client an exclusive license for the final cover design. The cover will be delivered in PDF, JPEG, or any other publishing-ready format as requested. The client acknowledges that they do not have the right to alter the completed design in any manner. Please note that we will not provide fonts or files.

Image Usage

The client must abide by the terms of the license agreement for the images used in cover design, which have been purchased by Indie Book Cover Designs. The cost of your cover design includes the to use the complete book cover as a whole, applicable to a print-run of 500,000 units or sales in the case of ebooks. If necessary, this limit can be extended for an additional cost. It is the’s responsibility to inform Indie Book Cover Designs if an extension is required.

Client Responsibilities 

Clients are encouraged to allow sufficient time between commissioning a cover design and their intended publication to ensure their cover is ready on time. Indie Book Cover Designs is not liable for any costs arising from delays in publication. It is the client's responsibility to order a proof copy from their printer before selling their book. Additionally, clients must supply an actual size template from their printer or publisher for the final design to ensure it is the correct size. 

Payment

The client agrees to pay a 50% deposit upfront in order to have their project scheduled in for work to start. The final balance is payable when the client is 100% happy with their design. Once final payment has been received, Indie Book Cover Designs will send the final files and consider the contract complete. If the client wants changes made after final approval or at a later time, they may be subject to a small fee depending on the amount of changes needed.

 

Either the client or Indie Book Cover Designs may cancel a project before the start date by providing written notice to the other, and will be under no further obligation to the other party. If, after the initial deposit has been paid, and work has started on the design, the client chooses to end the project, they agree to forfeit the deposit already paid. This is to cover costs and time already incurred by Indie Book Cover Designs. If Indie Book Cover designs ends the project, they will refund the deposit already paid.
